Escort Cold Chain Solutions SA (ECCS), with headquarters in Gordola, Switzerland, and global supplier of temperature and humidity data loggers for the cold chain industry has acquired the development and manufacturing division, Viemme SRL, of FAPS ENGINEERING SA in Mendrisio, Switzerland. Following the acquisition, ECCS will now operate with a new name : SWITRACE SA and will move its headquarters to Mendrisio.

Switrace SA serves the cold chain industry in the pharma/biotech as well as food industry, and exports its full range of temperature monitors globally.

With this acquisition SWITRACE SA will move the manufacturing of its products from Turkey and China to Switzerland. “This acquisition”, comments Mr Patrick Poulet, Sales and Marketing Director of Switrace SA “ allows us to have a better control on the quality of our temperature monitors but the move was also driven upon realisation that manufacturing in Southern Switzerland where we can also be highly competitive. We are probably the only single use temperature monitor manufacturer in Europe and offering Swiss quality will make a difference to our customers”

SWITRACE SA will also only continue to expand the activity of Viemme SRL as manufacturer of instrumentation for industries not related to cold chain. Luca Mercurio, Production Manager of Switrace SA comments: “We are very excited joining Switrace SA. We have been manufacturing high-end electronics for third parties for over 20 years but we know the cold chain market is one of the fastest in terms of growth driven by tougher regulations protecting the integrity of drugs and quality of food.
